“Like My Dog”
Song Sings Dog’s Praises

Billy Currington’s song “Like My Dog” expresses what most of us have felt at one time or another. When the country singer sings, “I want you to love me like my dog does,” it’s easy to relate to his desire for unconditional love and uncomplicated relationships. Though he’s been accused of misogyny and unrealistic expectations, I enjoy the song from a more light-hearted perspective.

Just for fun, check out this video with the whole song and let us know if you’ve ever shared his sentiments.

I love it! I am single and I often tell my friends why having a dog is so fulfilling. My dog is always happy to see me, never gets mad when i'm gone too long, and she'll never "cheat" on me or lie to me. There is nothing like the unconditional love of a dog.

Thanks for posting this! The unconditional love dogs give you is just such an amazing feeling! No matter what, they are always happy to see you!

I am a dog-lover & a huge Billy Currington fan as well! He has a chocolate lab named Paco that he loves dearly & he has a cute video on his website showing what Paco does during their downtime while on the road touring.

His dog is very easy going! some of my dogs do all those things - especially the "why don't you get off the couch" bit, and while they might not mind my human friends, they aren't crazy about my other doggie friends.
I get the concept, but i do find it rather insulting to be expected to always give and get nothing in return, been there, done that, rather have the dog.
